Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the produce department, including ordering, stocking, and merchandising.

• Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and minimize waste.

Ensure that all produce is properly handled, stored, and rotated to maintain freshness and quality.

• Train and supervise produce department staff, providing guidance on product knowledge, customer service, and best practices.

• Monitor and maintain displays to ensure they are attractive, well-organized, and fully stocked.

• Implement pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation procedures.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.

• Collaborate with other department managers to coordinate promotions, displays, and cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a produce management role preferred.

• Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including seasonality, varieties, and quality indicators.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

• Proficiency in inventory management and basic computer skills.
